7. Artifact Quests
Artifact Quests are quests triggered by NPCs that reward your Ninja with unique weapons,
armor and items. The Ninja has six Artifact Quests that they can complete in the course
of the game. They must be completed in order to trigger the next quest.
Artifact Quests are available at Lvl. 50, but I strongly suggest waiting until AT LEAST Lvl.
55 if you are intending to solo them. You must fight an NM or extremely aggressive
monster for each quest and if you are not prepared to fight for every inch you will be
defeated quickly. Working in a party will make things easier, but it has to be a party willing
to let you have the artifact when the battle is done. For this reason, many players chose
to solo the Artifact Quests. Wait until you have levelled up 3-5 times before going to the
next quest, because they DO get more difficult from number one to number six.
Happy questing!
7.1. Ninja Artifact Quests
Ninja Artifact Quest #1 20 In Pirate Years
Area: Outlands
Start point: Norg
NPC: Ryoma
Min. Level: 40
Max Level: 75
Artifact: Anju and Zushio Katanas
Speak with Ryoma in Norg, and it will trigger a cutscene. Go to Bastok and in Port Bastok
speak to Kagetora in Warehouse #2 across from the airship dock. Speak to Kagetora and
then go to find Ensetsu at (I-5). Ensetsu will send you to the Altepa Desert. To get there
go through the Korrolaka Tunnels.
At (H-6) clear the area of all monsters (be careful not to let too many aggro and link with
each other if you are soloing. Head in, kill a few and then head away to heal. This
process is somewhat time consuming but safer.) You can also lead monsters away to
prevent linking by attack once and then running to the area where you wish to fight. Be
prepared to absorb some hate if you are using this method. When you have cleared the

area examine the ???. Two NM spiders named Tsuchigumo will spawn. Tsuchigumo is
based on earth but weak against ice. Keep up the magic nuking along with Utsusemi.
and receive a key item called the Trick Box.
Return to Norg and speak with Ryoma to receive your reward.
Ninja Artifact Quest #2 I ll Take the Big Box
Area: Outlands
Start point: Norg
NPC: Ryoma
Min. Level: 50
Max Level: 75
Artifact: Ninja Hakama
Speak to Ryoma and then go to Bastok and speak to Ensetsu at (I-5). Ensetsu will tell
you to go find an NPC named Leodarion, who resides in Rabao. Stop at the Bastok AH
before you leave and buy an Oak Pole, a Level 39 WHM Staff. This will run you a fairly
large chunk of gil, so make sure to have some saved up or have a few things to sell
quickly.
Find Leodarian in Rabao by the windmill. Speak to him and then trade him the Oak Pole.
Nothing happens right away. Then, you must wait for one Vana diel day to pass before
speaking to him again. He will then give you a key item and tell you to go to Mhaura.
Once in Mhaura, catch the boat at midnight. Once you have departed, go onto deck and
an NM Ghost called Enagakure will spawn at 20:00 Vana diel time. Enagakure is not as
tough as the NM spiders from Quest 1, but the battle against him will aggro a Sea Horror,
who is truly a challenge. If you are below Lvl. 60, you pretty much have to have a party
with you to keep the Sea Horror off your back. Make sure your party is at least at the
